Two captions at once: what is said, and your language
Snagcast is a free app for Windows and Android that shows a video's captions in your language with the line as spoken under it.
Learn a language with the videos you like: hear it, read it as it is said, and read it in your language, line by line. Snagcast uses the video's own captions, or makes them from the speech (100 spoken languages), and translates them into any of 49. It works on the videos of the websites you open in Snagcast, YouTube included, and on video files you add.
How to
- Open the video in Snagcast and turn on captions: Captions on Windows, CC on Android.
- In the caption settings, turn on Translate captions and choose your language under Translate to.
- Under Show, tick your language and Original.
On your computer, Snagcast Pro translates into up to 5 languages at once, each its own line.
Keep what you learn
- Clip a line with both captions drawn into the picture (clip with captions).
- Export .srt… keeps the captions as subtitle files, one for each language.
- Captions you made once are there at once when you watch that video again.
Free, or Pro
Each phone and computer translates 30 minutes of video for free, with no account and no card. Snagcast Pro (US$29.90, one payment, no subscription) translates without limits.
