Translated captions on Windows, on any PC and in your language

Snagcast is a free app for Windows and Android that captions the videos you watch and translates them into your language in real time, on any Windows PC.

Windows 11's Live Captions translates only on a Copilot+ PC running Windows 11, version 24H2 or later, and only into English or Chinese (Simplified), Microsoft says (checked on November 1, 2026). Snagcast needs no Copilot+ PC: it hears 100 spoken languages and translates them into up to 96 (see each one), on your computer, for the videos of the websites you open in it, YouTube included, and the video files you add.

Turn on Captions beside the video.
In the caption settings, turn on Translate captions and choose your language under Translate to.
Play the video: the translated captions appear as it plays. Under Show, choose your language, the line as spoken, or both.

Free, or Pro

Each computer translates 30 minutes of video for free, with no account and no card. Snagcast Pro (US$29.90, one payment, no subscription) translates without limits, adds Pro translation on your computer, and translates into up to 5 languages at once.
