Captions in your language on any Android phone

Snagcast is a free app for Windows and Android that captions the videos you watch on your phone and translates them into your language in real time.

Android's Live Caption captions up to 15 languages on a Pixel 6 or later and selected phones, fewer on older ones, and if a phone has no Live Caption, Google says to ask its maker (checked on November 1, 2026). Snagcast brings its own speech and translation, whatever your phone's make: it hears 100 spoken languages and translates them into any of 66 (see each one), on your phone, for the videos of the websites you open in it, YouTube included, and video files.

  4. Play the video: the translated captions appear as it plays. Under Show, choose your language, the line as spoken, or both.

Free, or Pro

Captions are free. Each phone also translates 30 minutes of video for free, with no account and no card. Snagcast Pro (US$29.90, one payment, no subscription) translates without limits and adds the most accurate speech models (the most accurate needs 4 GB of memory or more).
